Heart Prep for Sunday, May 14th
We’re in the last chapter in our series on “A Man Called Job” as this week we’ll be in Job 42. And we’re really looking for the “happily ever after” ending. And we sort of get it … and we sort of don’t. Yes, Job is restored and blessed, but his suffering was real and will never be forgotten.
And then there’s a lot of unanswered questions. If Job hadn’t sinned, why is he repenting? If the book is not about retributive justice (getting what you deserve), why does Job get restored? Did he deserve it? If Job has said a lot of unwise and angry things throughout the book, why does God say he’s spoken what is right?
And finally, what does the Book of Job teach us about ourselves? And what does it teach us about God? And why isn’t the sermon series ending here? So much that’s hard to understand. So let’s dive in this Sunday and see if we can answer some of those questions. I’ll see you then, Dr. Dave
PS – Sunday is Mother’s Day. Be extra nice to all the ladies in your life.
