Heart Prep for Sunday, April 14th

We’re back in the Gospel of Luke this week.  It’s a long series, this series, on the life of Christ, Walking with Jesus: A Year with the Savior.  We’re in Luke 7:36-50 and we come across two notorious sinners.  One sinner everyone knows is notorious, the other sinner everyone knows is not.  But Jesus knows that thoughts and attitudes of us all, including these two notorious sinners.  And so He addresses them … as only He can.

Once again, I’ll be coming at this passage as a whole, trying to help you use your imagination to see the story from the perspective of a bystander, someone watching and waiting to see what’s going to happen next.  And Jesus might just surprise us all … as only He can.  See you Sunday, Dr. Dave

Please be in prayer for Mark & Phoebe Rist and their whole family.  As you know, they recently lost Iris Dillard (Phoebe’s mom) and this week they lost Jules Rist (Mark’s dad).  While those are heavy blows in a short period of time, they are able to rejoice in God their Savior, assured in the knowledge that He keeps His promises, and that there will be a grand reunion one day.

Many years ago I asked Jules how he was doing, and he wisely replied, “The days are hard, but My Anchor Holds.”    Yes it does, Sir, Yes it does.
