Heart Prep for Sunday, March 31st
This Sunday is Easter. This is the day we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior with the great cry, “Christ is Risen!” To which the answer is “He is Risen Indeed!” It is one of my favorite days of the year, for all of our faith depends on the truth of this great day.
So this Sunday, we’re continuing our series on the life of Christ, Walking with Jesus: A Year with the Savior. We’re in Luke 7:1-17, where we’ll get “A Taste of the Resurrection” and a glimpse of our future. We’ll do that by looking at two resurrection stories. Not the resurrection of Christ, but the resurrection of two people who don’t deserve it.
One of the people saved from death is depending on Jesus to honor the request of another on his behalf. The other person has already died, but is brought back to life based solely on the merciful love of Christ, even when no one has asked for it. In both these cases, we are given a glimpse of the power of God, that “even when we were dead in our trespasses, [He] made us alive together with Christ” (Ephesians 2:5). I’ll see you Easter morning! Dr. Dave
PS. Don’t forget about our Good Friday service. 6:30 pm at Harper Park.
