What To Expect When Visiting At Potomac Hills:

Thinking of visiting Potomac Hills Presbyterian Church? If so here is some information you might find helpful.

screenshot70Casual Atmosphere: It's important to us that you feel welcome when visiting and we hope our casual atmosphere will help you feel more comfortable. When you enter the main doors our greeters will guide you and answer any questions that you might have. If you need coffee or a snack, look no further than the main hallway. That's where a lot of folks stand and hang out before and after the service.  You are welcome to check out our church literature or enjoy some refreshments in the main hallway. As you enter the auditorium, feel free to pick up a bulletin.  Elders and Pastors are also available after the service for prayer or help every Sunday morning.

Biblical Teaching:  We place a high priority on the preaching and teaching of God's Word. The worship service is a time for us to come together as a community to learn, be encouraged and to be challenged by God's Word. Our sermon series work through books of the Bible, so you will receive solid biblical teaching that is applicable to your daily life.

Music:  Our music team leads old and new hymns in an acoustic guitar driven style.  We love to hear the congregation singing along, not sitting back and listening to a performance.  So our songs are chosen primarily on the strength of their theological and Biblical content, but also on the basis of singability.  We mix tunes from the Trinity Hymnal with songs from Indelible Grace (a PCA group of musicians who set old hymns lyrics to newer music) and songwriters like Keith Getty, Stuart Townend, Matt Redman, Robin Mark, and Bob Kauflin.

The Lord's Supper:  We celebrate the Lord's Supper once a month, usually on the first Sunday of the month.  The service is a little longer, as we spend time reflecting on the meaning of communion.  Then we invite everyone forward to receive the elements and to have an elder, pastor, or deacon pray for them individually.
