This Sunday's Worship Materials can be found in the "Featured Sermon" below. We meet in person at Harper Park Middle School, and the service is also livestreamed on our YouTube channel.

Heart Prep for Sunday, December 27th

I hope your holidays haven’t been too crazy so far.

I hope you’ve been able to slow down a little bit this Advent.

I hope you’ve been able to take advantage of our Advent devotional

(Tom Gardner did such a good job putting it together).

And I hope you learned something new and different from our Advent series,

“Unexpected Joy: A Christmas with Jonah.”

This Thursday at 5 pm, we’ll have our annual Christmas Eve Candlelight Communion Service.  In a year of great disruption, being able to continue a few cherished traditions, like this Christmas Eve service, is a great comfort to many.  We’ll hear the lessons, sing the carols, serve communion, using all of our safety protocols, and we’ll close with the singing of “Silent Night.”  I hope you can make it on this very special evening.

Then on Sunday, December 27th, we have a special treat for you.  Many of you will remember Ben Hein when he did his ministerial internship here at Potomac Hills back in 2017.  Well, the now Rev. Ben Hein will be preaching this Sunday from Micah, chapter 5 (Micah comes right after Jonah).  Ben will also have an announcement about some exciting changes for the Hein family.

In January, we start the Book of Revelation during the combined Adult/College/Teen Sunday School class and we’re going to do a short one-month sermon series called “With Confidence: Trusting God in Winter.”  I think it will serve as a needed reminder of where our confidence lies after such a tumultuous year.  And finally, since I know that a lot of you won’t be able to see all the friends and family you’d like to (me either), I hope you’ll be able to enjoy this quieter Christmas and focus on the Good News of Great Joy, that is for all the people.  See you soon, Dr. Dave
