This Sunday's Worship Materials can be found in the "Featured Sermon" below. We meet in person at Harper Park Middle School, and the service is also livestreamed on our YouTube channel.

Heart Prep for Sunday, April 3rd

First off, I want to thank Frank Wang, James Murphy, and Timo Sazo who filled in for me while I’ve been out of the pulpit the last three weeks.  I’m doing much better, going to Cardiac Rehab (Supervised Exercise) three times a week, and getting stronger every day.  But I’m looking forward to being back preaching this Sunday.

We have the privilege of having our missionaries, John and Sandy Supplee, with us this Sunday.  They will be sharing about their mission work in the Mideast with MTW during the adult Sunday School class, briefly during worship, and then will be joining us for the Spring Social in the afternoon!

This Sunday we will be looking at Deuteronomy 15 and 16, which is Moses’ application of the 4th Commandment on the Sabbath.  Like our previous few sermons, he doesn’t talk about the Sabbath directly, but how do we apply the Sabbath principle (for the Israelites then … and for us today).

We will also be celebrating the Lord's Supper together.  And, as we did last month, we’ll be coming forward for communion.  However, we know that it’s going to take a little while to get used to it again.

First of all, we’re going to have two tables (front and back areas) with the communion elements on them.  While these tables will have the traditional bread and juice on them, we’ll also have the prepackaged communion cups available.

Second, we’re going to use two ushers to send people by rows, so we don’t have the lines for the communion table get backed up

Third, as we still have several families more comfortable wearing masks, at least two of the men praying with families will wear masks in order to better serve them.  We want those wearing masks to feel it’s okay to come forward.

It's going to take awhile to get used to our style of communion again, so be patient with everyone as sometimes things don’t quite go according to plan.  Yet, even with these simple modifications, I’m glad to be able to again pray with you during communion.  I hope you are too.  See you at the Lord’s Table, Dr. Dave
