While we have been in a season of crises, there have been encouraging signs that perhaps this season is passing.  Keep praying for Isaiah and Kelley as they continue to walk through healing and the ups and downs that come with that.  Also be praying for Dr. Dave.  He’s off on study leave this week, and will be visiting family.

As we continue in our series on the Timothy’s, this week’s passage is 2 Timothy 2.  Last week we saw Paul exhorting Timothy to not take the Gospel for granted, to make it more precious to him, and to be careful to persevere in the faith.  This week, we see an extension of that theme, with the Gospel again playing a central role in exhorting Timothy to live a life that befits a follower of Christ.  But the second half of the chapter really deals with how we relate to those around us, both in the church and outside the church.  I encourage you to spend some time reading and meditating on verses 14-26.  They are challenging to us, especially in this area of the country and in this time when we have both in-person and online relationships.  Come and see how the Gospel enables us to live as befits a follower of Christ and enables us to avoid quarrels in a quarrelsome culture.  See you Sunday!
