Moving from Retaliation to Vengeance (Exodus 20:13)

July 23, 2017 Speaker: Rev. Dave Dorst Series: Movements of Grace - A series on the Ten Commandments

Topic: Sermons Passage: Exodus 20:13

If you haven’t seen the pictures from the Mission Trip to Nassau yet, they’re having a great time running the VBS and sports camps.  Please keep praying for them until they return on Saturday.
We’re halfway through the Ten Commandments and summer’s past the midway point.  One of the shortest verses in the Old Testament, “you shall not murder,” is our sermon text for this Sunday, but there are so many implications from that short verse.  Can someone say that it’s right to take the life of a murderer through capital punishment while saying it’s not right to take life from the womb through abortion?  Is it wrong to kill a lab animal or to terminate an older person’s life if they’re in pain?  Is it just the act of killing that’s wrong or do we need to be aware of the sins that lead up to that?  Let’s work through those together Sunday.
We’ll be announcing Friday who won the free registration to the All-Church Retreat!  If you missed the July 19th contest deadline to sign up for the Retreat, you still have 2 1/2 weeks to register for the Aug. 19th Retreat that will be a blast.  Looking forward to seeing you Sunday!  -Dave Dorst
