This Sunday we started the book of Colossians. This is a great book that's all about the absolute supremacy and sufficiency of Jesus Christ as the King of all creation and Head of the Church. There is no book in the New Testament which presents such a comprehensive picture of Christ. The church in Colossae was facing a problem from false teachers who were propagating what could only be called a “Christ Plus” religion. The Apostle Paul wrote to remind them that the answer was to be found in the good news that Jesus is the Friend of Sinners.
