Genesis 29 is the story of Laban's tricking Jacob into marrying his older daughter, Leah, when he had just worked seven years to marry the younger, prettier daughter, Rachel. This passage tells us a lot about Laban and his deceit, Jacob and his love, and Leah and her pain. It also reminds us that when we think about ourselves as ugly Leahs, God sees us as beautiful Rachels.
