The second half of Genesis 4 fills the time between Cain's murder of his brother and the time of Noah, describing Cain's descendants and the birth of Seth, who is the "appointed one" in place of Abel. There are a number of questions raised by this passage: incest, polygamy, revenge, common grace. Rev. Dorst tackles these questions and issues, and reminds us that just as Seth's line "began to call upon the name of the Lord" in corporate worship, so the church today is called to vital, corporate worship in the midst of both extreme evil and good in the world.
