Portrait of the King, Revelation 1:4-6

September 27, 2009 Speaker: Dr. David Silvernail Series: The King’s Triumphant Return - A Series in Revelation

Topic: Sermons Passage: Revelation 1:4–1:6

In the book Our Sovereign God (editor, J. M. Boice), Dr. John R. W. Stott writes, "Jesus is Lord three times over: first, by right of His Godhead, sharing the throne of God; second, by right of His historical ministry, ushering in the kingdom of God; and third, by right of His supreme exaltation, sitting at the right hand of God.  Jesus is three times Lord, and thus deserves our full homage and our worship."

This week, as we continue our series on The Book of Revelation, we are looking at a portrait of Jesus in His exaltation.  Therefore, for all of the above reasons, it is important for us to come worship the only One who deserves it.
