Heart Prep for Sunday, November 6th
This Sunday, we’ve come to one of the hardest, and most negative, parts of the New Testament. 2nd Peter, chapter 2 contains a hard-hitting denunciation of false teachers. It has some of the strongest language in the New Testament. But remember, the Apostle Peter is writing about the essential truths he wants his original readers (and us) to know.
So why is this warning about false teachers one of those essentials? Well, one, almost all of the New Testament letters contain some sort of warning against false teachers; two, there have been false teachers in every era of church history; and three, our own day and age seems to be overcome by false teachers.
So, how do we recognize them? What do we do about them? And how do we overcome the false teaching they promote? Those are the kind of questions we’ll be taking on this Sunday as we look at “Embracing the Way of Truth.” I hope to see you there, Dr. Dave
