Heart Prep for Sunday, May 1st
Well, we’re back in Deuteronomy this week and due to changing my Easter sermon, this week we have two commandments to cover — The Seventh Commandment, “Do Not Commit Adultery” and the Eighth Commandment, “Do Not Steal.” What do these commandments have in common? Both involve taking something that belongs to someone else. In one case it’s the taking of a person, and in the other case, it’s the taking of property. While each commandment is unique, they are related. And they both diminish our respect for God’s provision for each person. And both put a spotlight on our own idolatry.
So, it should be interesting this Sunday as we examine just why God gives us these commandments … and why, even though they have few words, they have many applications, both positive and negative. So, if nothing else, it should be thought-provoking. And with that, I’ll see you Sunday, Dr. Dave
P.S. – Don’t forget that we will be celebrating the Lord’s Supper this Sunday, to be immediately followed by our first Fellowship Lunch in two years! Please plan on being there.
