This Sunday's Worship Materials can be found in the "Featured Sermon" below. We meet in person at Harper Park Middle School, and the service is also livestreamed on our YouTube channel.

Heart Prep for Sunday, June 7th

This week, we’ve come to two of Jesus’ most frequently misunderstood actions, the cursing of the fig tree and the cleansing of the Temple, found in Mark 11:12-25.  This is no surprise, for, on their own, these two events are difficult to understand. When read together, however, these two events explain each other.

Recently, Mark has given us contrasts — the Rich Young Ruler contrasted with the little children and then Blind Bartimaeus contrasted with the disciples James and John. In the end, we saw that all these stories were about faith. And this passage is no different, even though faith isn’t mentioned until near the end.

It’s the last week of Jesus’ life. He’s finished with His healing miracles. He’s concluded most of His teaching. The Triumphal Entry has just happened. And now He’s returning to the Temple.  There’s some “seemingly” harsh words and harsher actions, followed by an exhortation for faithful words and actions. So, that’s what we’ll be looking at this Sunday, I hope you’ll listen in.  Dr. Dave

As you know, we’re working hard to reopen and we’re targeting Sunday, June 14th for our first service back (I can’t wait!). Please pray all the details get worked out so we can gather again on that day.

Once again, I’ll be preaching via video on our YouTube channel (even after we’re meeting together again, we’ll still be recording and posting the sermon on YouTube for those who aren’t ready to meet yet).

On Saturday we’ll post all the links and everything you need to worship on our website at www.potomachills.org. Just click on the “latest sermon” link. There you’ll find the worship guide and a link to the worship playlist, which includes the sermon on video.
