This Sunday's Worship Materials can be found in the "Featured Sermon" below. We meet in person at Harper Park Middle School, and the service is also livestreamed on our YouTube channel.

Heart Prep for Sunday, June 24th

I hope you're enjoying summer and our study of the book of James.  We're in the middle of a lot of preaching by Ruling Elders and Associate Pastors, so enjoy the variety!  James Murphy did a great job last week.  As we read and preach through James, we need to keep reminding ourselves that James is not writing to tell people what to do to be saved, he's writing to describe what saved people do.  This has a huge impact on how we understand the book and its teaching, particularly as we try to make sense of his strong call to works.  This week as we look at what true and false religion looks like, James will describe what healthy, godly religion does; but don't confuse that with how we are saved.  Keeping your tongue in check, caring for the vulnerable people in the world, and striving to be more godly than worldly are wonderful things to strive for in our Christian walk; there's a lot to explore as we unpack those verses.

On a practical note, don't forget that this Sunday is the first week where we can't use the cafeteria.  So the kids' classes that have been meeting there will be in "A" wing classrooms (where the older kids, teens, and adults have Sunday School).  The Adult Sunday School class will be meeting in the band room, which is right next to the auditorium.  Don't forget to be praying for the Bahamas Mission Team that leaves this Saturday for a week.  See you Sunday! - Dave
