Heart Prep for Sunday, June 19th
Well, we’ve just started a new series on Biblical Priorities called “First Things First” where we’ll spend the summer looking at twelve verses that tell us to do something “first.” However, this week, we’ll be looking at several verses that don’t tell us to do something first, but rather to recognize what should come first in our lives. More specifically, we are to recognize WHO should come first. (hint – it’s not you – sorry).
We’ll be looking at Isaiah 41:4 and 44:6. We’ll see what claims God makes about Himself, we’ll look at why He makes these claims, we’ll look at how He’s able to make these claims, and then we’ll (hopefully) see where it makes a difference in our lives. And in all of this, we’ll learn something new about Jesus.
So, it should be a good lesson for us as we head into the summer months, filled with travel, vacations, family time, and taking it a bit easier — all good things, but all things centered around us. It’s a great time to be reminded of WHO comes first. And that’s something we actually need. See you Sunday, Dr. Dave
P.S. – The PCA General Assembly starts on Monday and once again, there’s a number of controversial issues to be addressed. I’m not able to attend this year, but will be watching it closely. Please be in prayer for the peace and unity of our denomination. Thanks.
