Heart Prep for Sunday, June 17th
Difficult times can cause us to doubt God’s goodness. This week in James 1:12-18 we are going to see what James has to say about our temptations. Often times of stress, disappointment, and hurt feelings can provide the context for us to succumb to temptations. James will help us rightly understand where those temptations come from and remind us that God gives us only good and perfect gifts.
Our unchanging Lord saved us for a purpose. What is that purpose? Hint: It is not to give up, to lose hope and despair when enduring trials or facing temptations. He did not save us so we would face our temptations alone. He saved us for something wonderful. We have a glorious purpose. I am looking forward to bringing the congregation God’s word this Sunday. Please come and taste and see that the Lord is good!
In His grip,
RE James Murphy
