This Sunday's Worship Materials can be found in the "Featured Sermon" below. We meet in person at Harper Park Middle School, and the service is also livestreamed on our YouTube channel.

Heart Prep for Sunday, July 1st

Hey, first of all, thanks to everyone for being flexible with Sunday School and Children's Church rooms as we navigate our way through Harper Park's renovation this summer.  I'm sure there will be lots more changes coming our way.  And if you're looking for somewhere to serve, Children's Church needs some people.  The more adults we have serving, the easier it is.

Second, speaking of Sunday School, if you haven't been lately I would encourage you to come out and give it another try.  The adults are meeting in the band room (next to the side entrance of the auditorium) and we're going through the Book of Ecclesiastes, which has a lot of relevance to the culture we live in today.  I would love to see you there at 9:30!  (No, it's not that early!)

Third, this Sunday we're continuing our series on The Book of James, entitled "We Walk in Wisdom."  We're going to spend the summer looking at what the brother of Jesus has to say about wisdom.  And this week we have the special treat of hearing from our founding Ruling Elder, Mark Rist, as he exhorts us from James 1:19-25 on the "Wisdom for Obedience."  Obedience is one of those things we all agree is a good thing, but don't want to admit how hard it is to actually do.  Mark probably knows as much about grace and obedience as anyone in the church, so it will be good to hear his wisdom on the subject.

Fourth, since the school is undergoing renovation, we've changed our Fellowship Lunch for this Sunday to a church picnic at Fox Ridge Park (4-8 pm).  These events are usually a lot of fun and I don't expect this one to be any different.  So come on out, bring something to share, and make some time to get to know someone you don't know well now.  Leaving the picnic with new friends is always satisfying.  And, as always, feel free to invite and bring a friend or neighbor with you. (It's supposed to be hot, so extra cold drinks and sunscreen would be wise).

Finally, don't forget to be praying this week for our Nassau Missions Team.  They been hit with some unexpected challenges, changing weather, and  having to improvise their plans.  Pray that God will work through it all and His Spirit will be evident as they minister to the community there.

It's shaping up to be a busy summer.  Let me encourage you not to let the busyness keep you from building relationships.  Have someone over, visit someone who needs it, encourage someone else (more people need this than you might realize), and pray for them all.  That makes for a good week.  See you Sunday, Dr. Dave
