This Sunday's Worship Materials can be found in the "Featured Sermon" below. We meet in person at Harper Park Middle School, and the service is also livestreamed on our YouTube channel.

Heart Prep for Sunday, January 16th

Well, we’ve already had our first canceled service of the New Year, and hopefully, that’s the last one!  And while Frank, Tom, and Eli did a great job with the online service, it reminded me once again how much I value worshipping together in person.  I miss seeing everyone, I miss hearing everyone sing, I miss the corporate nature of corporate worship, and quite frankly, I simply miss the whole thing.  I’ve noticed that I sing a lot softer worshipping at home.  When we’re together, I know that having everyone else singing drowns me out and frees me to sing louder.  Is that true for you?  I hope so.

This is our third week in the Book of Deuteronomy, and we’ll be looking at the second half of chapter 3.  Once again, there is a great emphasis on the Sovereignty of God.  And once again, there is a great emphasis on our need to trust God, to believe His promises, and learn to love what He’s doing in our lives (both individually and as a church) … even when it’s hard and uncomfortable.

In this passage, we’re going to see Moses remind the Israelites of God’s promises.  They will be reminded of the promise of the land.  They will be reminded of the promise of God’s presence.  And they will be reminded that God keeps His Word, even when we doubt and question what He’s said.

So Deuteronomy reminds us that God makes great promises, He keeps those promises, and His will for us is perfect, even if we can’t see it or understand it.  All of which is a good reminder of why the title for this sermon series is simply “Knowing God.”  So, let’s make “Knowing God” our focus in 2022 … and then see what God will do in us and among us.  See you Sunday, Dr. Dave
