This Sunday's Worship Materials can be found in the "Featured Sermon" below. We meet in person at Harper Park Middle School, and the service is also livestreamed on our YouTube channel.

Heart Prep for Sunday, January 10th, 2021

In the midst of this Covid surge, one of our members, Mrs. Jenny Nelson, tested positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday.  Jenny and her family were at church on Sunday.  Jenny has already notified those folks she was in contact with.  Most importantly, please be praying for the Nelson family, who currently have mild cold symptoms.  Pray for a quick return to good health and that the virus doesn’t spread.  Jonathan and Jenny are much-loved members of this church and I’m sure they would appreciate any encouragement you may have to offer.

As for you personally, if you have been in close contact with the Nelson’s recently, you may want to consider contacting your doctor and getting tested.  Joanne and I were in close contact with them and so we went ahead and got tested (both our tests were negative).  Several others in the church will be getting tested this week as well.  Please do what you think is safest for your family.

Due to an abundance of caution, the Session has decided that we will be moving all of our activities for this Sunday online.  Tom Gardner and I will be livestreaming the service to our YouTube channel from the church office.  Please check the church website on Sunday morning for all the appropriate links and downloads you’ll need for Sunday’s worship service.  If you need the lyrics for the music, they will be attached to the worship guide.

Additionally, our combined Teen/College/Adult Sunday School class will be conducted via Zoom.  I will be teaching from Revelation 1, starting at our regular time of 9:30 am.  All other Sunday morning activities are canceled for this Sunday.  We’ll make the decision about future Sundays one week at a time.

This week, we’re going to continue our January sermon series - “With Confidence: Trusting God in Winter.”  Isaiah 40-55 is one long epic poem (a story in poetic form) which some consider a song.  Last week we looked at Isaiah 40, the first chapter in the poem.  This week we’ll be looking at the last chapter in the poem, Isaiah 55, and what it teaches us about having “Confidence in God’s Word.”  With the craziness of what’s going on in Washington, DC now, it’s good to know where our confidence truly lies.  Pray for our country, pray for our community, pray for our church, and pray for everyone’s safety.  Lord willing, we’ll worship together (even via a livestream) on Sunday, Dr. Dave
