This Sunday's Worship Materials can be found in the "Featured Sermon" below. We meet in person at Harper Park Middle School, and the service is also livestreamed on our YouTube channel.

Heart Prep for Sunday, February 7th

This week, we’re starting a new sermon series on The Book of Joshua which I’ve entitled, “Living Out a Courageous Faith.”  In this time of such societal unrest, unease, and uncertainty, where Christians aren’t sure what to say, how to act, or who to agree with, I can think of few times in my nearly thirty years of pastoral ministry that we’ve more needed to learn how to live out a courageous faith.

This week, we’ll be starting with Joshua, chapter 1, and three times in this chapter, the Lord tells Joshua to “Be Strong and Courageous.”  And to encourage Joshua to become a strong and courageous leader, the Lord makes some very familiar promises, and then, based on those promises, He gives some very familiar commands.  What are the promises?  What are the commands?  How do we respond?  And which comes first?  Those are some of the questions we’ll be looking at this Sunday.

We also have the excitement of a double sacrament Sunday.  Not only will we be celebrating the Lord’s Supper together, but we’ll also have the baptism of Samuel Kamakawiwoole (yes, I’m practicing that middle name … pray for me).

It should be a great day and I’m looking forward to our time together again this Sunday, Dr. Dave

If you want to get a good (and fun) overview of the Book of Joshua, here’s a great nine-minute video from the Bible Project.  It’s great for kids too! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JqOqJlFF_eU&feature=emb_logo
