Our current sermon series is coming to an end this Sunday (starting the book of James on June 10th). It's been an intense series, looking at things like depression grief, and guilt. This Sunday's topic is persecution, which is potentially a very personal, difficult issue for those that it affects. And it comes in many different forms in the world today: This past Mother's Day, May 13th, three churches in Surabaya, Indonesia were attacked by suicide bombers, resulting in 13 deaths. Last year, a Catholic therapist in Michigan was fired after declining to give marriage counseling to a gay couple because of her beliefs. Thankfully, the Bible has a lot to say about persecution - our expectations, our resources to handle it, and the promises for those who endure it. Come Sunday and we'll dive into God's word and enjoy the Lord's Supper together. -Rev. Dorst
