Hearing by Grace (Isaiah 6; Mark 10)

June 11, 2017 Speaker: Dr. David Silvernail Series: Movements of Grace - A series on the Ten Commandments

Topic: Sermons Passage: Isaiah 6:1–5, Mark 10:17–22, Mark 10:33–34

Hey, I know we’ve just started a new series on The Ten Commandments but we’re going to step out of the series for a week and I have a special message on the occasion of the Installation of Jon Thompson as a Ruling Elder, the Ordination and Installation of Tom Gardner as a Ruling Elder, and the Ordination and Installation of Kirk Maatman as a Deacon.  We don’t do this very often and so, when we do have these special services, we need to stop and ask ourselves some questions: mainly, who are these guys and what are they going to do?  So that’s what we’re going to talk about this week.  What does it mean to be an officer in the church, and what should we, as a congregation, expect of them?  And to that end, I’ll be preaching from several selected passages, primarily Isaiah 6 and Mark 10, about “Hearing By Grace.”  It should be a special day.  I hope you’ll make every effort to be there and support them this Sunday.  See you then, Dr. Dave

Hey, remember that we didn’t have the Memorial Day picnic two weeks ago because it was cold and wet.  Well, we’re having it this Sunday and it’s supposed to be wonderfully warm and sunny!  4 pm at Fox Ridge Park.  Always lots of fun.  Hope you can make it!

On Monday, the Pastors will be leaving for the PCA General Assembly in Greensboro, NC.  Please pray for this week, that everyone’s words will be wise and gracious, and that the unity of the church will be evident to all.
