Guest Post from Mike VanDerLinden, who’s preaching this Sunday:
I was recently traveling home from my parents’ house in western New York. I was by myself with no real pressure to hurry home. So, I decided to take a different route than normal. Everything started out just fine. I opened up my favorite GPS phone App, hit the home button, and up came instructions through some of the back country of Pennsylvania. It wasn’t long though before I ran into a small problem¼I lost my cell phone coverage back in those hills and my GPS App became useless! I almost had to pull over and get directions! It was a good thing I wasn’t on my way to an important meeting. But, if I had been, it would have been useful to have some good instructions written down. Instructions that would keep me from getting lost and get me to my destination safely.
God gives us some instructions in this week’s passage from Exodus 30 that are meant to bring us safely to a very important destination. A meeting with God Himself. No GPS required. Hope to see you on Sunday. – Mike VanDerLinden
