A Light Shining in the Darkness (1 John 1:5-10)

Speaker: Dr. Scott Redd Series: Guest Speakers Topic: Sermons Passage: 1 John 1:5–10

This week we have the pleasure of hearing from Dr. Scott Redd, the President and Associate Professor of Old Testament at Reformed Theological Seminary Washington, DC. Scott is an engaging guy and a joy to work with (I’m supposed to say something like that since he’s my boss at the seminary where I teach preaching ; ) No, seriously, Scott is a great guy and a great asset to RTS. An ordained minister in the EPC, Scott’s interests include teaching Scripture and applying it to all situations in life, particularly in the context of community. Due to this interest, he continually finds himself drawn to the learning community of the seminary as well as the worshiping community of the church. Scott also blogs at christwardcollective.org and sunergoi.com. His writing has appeared in the Washington Post and on The Gospel Coalition website. Scott is married to Jennifer and they have five daughters.

Also take time to pray over the next couple of days as we have our annual Officer’s Retreat. Scott will be leading us and it’s a great team-building time that I really look forward to each year. I know that each of your elders and deacons greatly appreciate your prayers for them. I’ll see you again this Sunday. I hope you’ll be there! Dr. Dave
