The Triumph and the Test (Exodus 15:1-27)

This Sunday we have the privilege of having one of our Ruling Elders, Mark Rist, preach from Exodus 15 to us. Some folks may not know that Mark and his wife, Phoebe, were founding members of Potomac Hills almost 26 years ago, so they’ve seen our church grow and change through a lot of different seasons. We thank God for their faithfulness and perseverance. And we thank God even more for His faithfulness in the church and in each of our lives. Exodus 15 is the account of people who are caught up praising and thanking God for His care and salvation of them; they were so moved with praise that they broke out into songs that were apparently written on the spot. Of course, as happens throughout Exodus and the wilderness wanderings, the thankfulness turns into grumbling and complaining before long. I wonder if we’ll see ourselves in the passage?

Have you looked at the calendar recently? Easter is 3 weeks away! College Spring Breaks are already underway, and Easter Break for local schools is just over 2 weeks away. And as you know, people are often more open to being invited to church on Easter and Christmas, so be thinking and praying about who you can invite to church.
