Well, this week we’re starting a new series on the Book of Exodus which I’ve called “The Glory of the Lord.” Why Exodus. Well, we haven’t preached through it before and it has so much to teach us.
First and foremost, Exodus helps us to know God better! God reveals Himself to His people in this book and that will help to strengthen the faith of each and every one of us.
Second, Exodus helps us to know God’s redemption better. Exodus provides the model for God’s plan for redemption and, as we will see, leads us to the cross of Christ.
Third, Exodus helps us to know God’s mission better. And knowing what God cares about shows us what we should care about.
Fourth, Exodus helps us to know how best to live out our faith. In other words, what difference does knowing God, knowing God’s redemption, and knowing God’s mission make in our everyday life?
It should be interesting – I pray that God uses this journey through Exodus in each of your lives! See you Sunday, Dr. Dave
