A Better Honor (Hebrews 1:3b-14)
Topic: Sermons Passage: Hebrews 1:3b–1:14
I want to start by thanking everyone for such a warm welcome back from my sabbatical. It was very much appreciated. As you now know, we have started a new sermon series on the Book of Hebrews. This week we’ll be looking at Hebrews 1:3b-14 which makes the case that Jesus is better than the angels. As we prepare for worship this Sunday, ask yourself “How and Why is Jesus better than the angels?” I’ll attempt to answer those questions this Sunday!
I want to remind you that reading (or listening) to the Book of Hebrews once a week would be a great goal for each of us at the beginning of 2015. You can easily do it in one or two sittings, it’s no longer than a feature article in a magazine. For those of you who spend time in the car, most Online Bibles and Bible Apps have an audio feature so you can listen to Hebrews while you commute.
The theme of our time in Hebrews will be “Jesus is Better – Make My Heart Believe!” Those of you on Facebook and Twitter may have noticed that I’ve starting posting thoughts and articles with the hashtag “Jesus is Better!” (#JesusisBetter). You’re welcome to do that too. When you think of some way Jesus has made a difference or a change in your life, you’re welcome to post that to your favorite social media site with the #JesusisBetter. Let’s share with each other what God is doing in our lives as we go through the Book of Hebrews! I think that will be exciting! See You Sunday! Dr. Dave
