Kingdom Shock That Should Have Led To Kingdom Awe (Matthew 22:15-22, 41-46)
Speaker: Rev. Tom Rubino Series: The King and His Kingdom! - A Series in the Book of Matthew Topic: 1 Passage: Matthew 22:15-22–22:41-46
This week were looking at two well known passages in Matthew: the "Render Unto Caesar" passage (22:15-22) and the "Who's son is the Christ" passage (22:41-46). Both begin and end with questions. Both display the divine wisdom and glory of Jesus Christ. Both involve Kingdom shock that should have led to repentant hearts and Kingdom awe.
As we prepare to see how Matthew (and Jesus) will once again challenge his readers (and us) to acknowledge Jesus as the Messiah, here are a couple of questions to ponder:
What are we supposed to "render" to God and what should our true motivation be?
What do YOU think of the Christ and how does this impact your life?
So looking forward to the privilege of exploring God's Word with you on Sunday!
