Well, it's Thanksgiving Week and that means we're supposed to stop and give thanks for something more than the ability to shop until our brains hurt! Seriously, what are you thankful for this year? Beyond the usual " I'm thankful for my family, friends, pets, etc " (which are all good things), but what new or unique thing happened in your life this year that you should be thankful for. Perhaps there's a new relationship in your life that you didn't have last year? Perhaps there's some deeper understanding of God's love and care for you as you've had to face hard times and difficult situations? Perhaps something or someone at our church has impacted your life in a special way? In other words, what has God done in your life this year, different from every other year, that you can be thankful for?
This week we're still in Matthew 14, which continues with the very well-known story of Jesus feeding the five thousand. This is one of those stories that we think we know, but again, there's more to the story than meets the eye. We have to ask the questions: What's this story really about? And why is it here? I think it's so much more than the fact that Jesus is just cooler than the rest of us, so please come Sunday to hear more. Looking forward to another great day! See you then, Dr. Dave
