Understanding The Kingdom (Matthew 13:10-17)
Series: The King and His Kingdom! - A Series in the Book of Matthew Topic: Sermons Passage: Matthew 13:10–13:17
This week we're in the middle of Matthew 13, at a unique passage where Jesus explains why He's preaching in parables. And it seems that He's intentionally making it hard for people to understand (I've been accused of doing that too!). Why would He do that? Wouldn't you think that He would want to make it easier for people to understand?
The parables often seem simple at first glance, but once you dive into them, you discover that Jesus is using them to separate people into followers and non-followers, believers and unbelievers, friends and enemies. This is what makes the parables such a challenge, and since we have a lot of parables coming up, we would be wise to pay attention to what Jesus says here. Come Sunday to find out more! Looking forward to another great day!
See you then, Dr. Dave
