The Apostles of The King (Matthew 10:1-4)
Series: The King and His Kingdom! - A Series in the Book of Matthew Topic: Sermons Passage: Matthew 10:1–10:4
This week we're starting Matthew 10 where Jesus calls the Apostles. So what does that have to do with us? We're not Apostles, true. But we are called. In fact, to be a follower of Jesus we have to be called, because you can't get there on your own. One of the great things about the Gospel is that no one is prequalified for it. Jesus came from heaven to rescue sinners along the entire continuum of moral depravity. Murderers need a Savior, but so do missionaries. You need a Savior, and so do I.
Don't forget to pray for our NYC Missions Team this coming week as they head to New York to do disaster relief work after Hurricane Sandy. I'm sure they would appreciate all the prayer they can get!
Last, but not least, the Adult Bible Class continues our summer journey through the Minor Prophets and this Sunday we're going through the book of Zephaniah. I encourage you to read it ahead of time. Looking forward to another great Sunday! See you then, Dr. Dave
