The Authority of the King (Matthew 9:1-8)
June 9, 2013 Speaker: Rev. Dave Dorst, Associate Pastor Series: The King and His Kingdom! - A Series in the Book of Matthew
Topic: Sermons Passage: Matthew 9:1–9:8
"School's out for the summer!" That song is cranking loud at my house, and I'm sure we're not the only ones excited. I hope your summer is shaping up to be a good mix of rest, family time, pursuing some life goals, and spiritual growth. And even though school is out, we'll still be looking for you at Harper Park Middle School every Sunday morning.
I hope that you benefited from hearing Dr. Kooistra's missions presentation and his sermon on prayer last week. This week's sermon text is Matthew 9:1-8, where Jesus heals a paralytic. This is the third paralytic that we've heard about and the fifth account of Jesus healing in Matthew's gospel- so is there anything new we can learn from studying this? Well, Jesus does something much deeper than physical healing for this man, and it's worth diving into to find out how and why he does it. Join me as we study the Scriptures together!
