Genesis chapter 17 is the account of God changing both Abram and Sarai's names, as well as God instituting circumcision as the sign of the covenant with Abraham. God's promise to deliver a son through Abraham and Sarah is guaranteed within the next year (when Abraham would reach 100 years old) and his name is to be Isaac.
