The God Who Promises!, Gen. 3:15
Series: The God Who Is There- A Series in the Book of Genesis Topic: 1 Passage: Genesis 3:15–3:15
Today's sermon focuses entirely on the "Proto-Euangelion", or the first mention of the Gospel in the Bible: God's pronouncement that there will be enmity between the offspring of the serpent and the woman, and that the serpent's head would be bruised. Just as a snake whose head has been cut off but whose body continues to flail around and do damage, so Satan is a defeated foe who still does damage while he can. But Jesus is our redemption, the theme of the rest of Scripture from Genesis 4-Revelation 22; and He overcomes the power of the evil one.
