Victory of the King, Revelation 1:7-8

October 4, 2009 Speaker: Dr. David Silvernail Series: The King’s Triumphant Return - A Series in Revelation

Topic: Sermons Passage: Revelation 1:7–1:8

In the book More Than Conquerors, Dr. William Hendricksen writes about our passage this week, "John hears the Lord Jesus Christ Himself speaking to him and saying, 'I myself am the Alpha and the Omega.'  Alpha and Omega are the first and the last letters of the Greek alphabet.  Thus Christ here describes Himself as being the complete and perfect and eternal revelation of God.  He says, as it were, 'I am from the very beginning to the very end, that is, the Eternal One.  Take courage; your enemy cannot destroy your Christ.'"

This Sunday, we continue our series on The Book of Revelation and we're also coming to His table to celebrate the Lord's Supper.  Since we can come in courage, knowing our Christ can never be destroyed or defeated, then together, let's "boldly approach the throne of grace" in order to receive that grace that only He can give.
